16th April 2013 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 20 knots Surf / Sea State: 4 foot surf Air Temperature: 11ºC Sea Temperature: 8ºC Weather: Sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: Conditions looked perfect and the wind felt good but once on the water with my 5m and Niash Hyrbid Freewave board there just wasn't enough. I put a bigger fin on but the strong current in the same direction as the wind just wasn't helping matters. I did get out the back once where the waves were huge, so I stayed out there after a gybe but then got munched by a big one in a lull so decided that maybe it wasn't the best idea. Made it back in OK and decided enough was enough as the lawn needed mowing anyway. Tome and Sam were thinking about going out as I left but I'm not sure if they did. Hopefully they got a good session in as the weather was glorious and a day on the water is much needed. |
